The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced last week it is soliciting public comment and recommendations on national enforcement initiatives to be undertaken in fiscal years 2014-2016.  Every three years EPA selects these priority areas in order to focus federal resources on what it views as the most important environmental problems where noncompliance is a significant factor and where federal enforcement can make a difference.

For fiscal years 2011-2013, EPA has six initiatives including Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, which adresses animal waste discharges from large animal feeding facilities. Comments on extending the current enforcement initiatives for 2014-2016, and possible  other important strategic areas for consideration must be received by February 27.
