The National Chicken Council is pleased to announced that the Congressional Chicken Caucus has been re-established for the 113th Congress.  The bipartisan group will be chaired by Congressmen Rick Crawford (R-AR) and Sanford Bishop Jr. (D-GA).  The caucus will consist of members devoted to the various issues affecting the U.S. chicken industry and will also provide a platform to discuss the role of government in addressing current and future industry challenges.

Next Tuesday, February 5, Chicken Caucus members and their staff will have their first opportunity in the new Congress to learn about industry issues surrounding the Renewable Fuel Standard at an RFS coalition reform briefing in both the House and the Senate.

In order to continue steady enrollment and to bolster representation from districts where the industry has significant presence, The National Chicken Council urges its members to reach out to their representatives and encourage them to join the Congressional Chicken Caucus.  To join, members of Congress  can contact  Chris Jones via email at [email protected] in Congressman Crawford’s office or Michael Reed via email at [email protected] in Congressman Bishop’s office.
