Chicken parts exports in November 2012 were 303,874 metric tons valued at $372.72 million compared with a year earlier when exports were 294,813 tons valued at $351.23 million, a 3.1-percent increase in tonnage and a 6.1-percent rise in dollars.  The top two parts markets (Mexico and Angola) both registered very measurable increases in both quantity and value.  Parts to Mexico were up 41.8 percent and 58.9 percent, respectively, for quantity and value.  Parts to Angola increased 156.5 percent in quantity and 175.9 percent in value.

Ten of the top 15 parts markets had increases in quantity while 12 countries saw increases in value.  Together, these top 15 markets had a 15.7 percent increase in quantity and a 15.2 percent gain in value.  “Other countries” experienced a 19.5 percent decrease in quantity and an 11.5 percent decline in value.

Chicken parts exports during January-November 2012 totaled 3,276,416 tons valued at $4,013.98 million compared with 3,042,514 tons valued at $3,478.58 million, a 7.7-percent increase in quantity and a 15.4-percent increase in value.  Mexico, the top parts market during the first eleven months of 2012, had a 24.0-percent increase in quantity and a 46.0-percent increase in value when compared  with January-November 2011.  On the other hand, next top market Hong Kong experienced a 45.6-percent decrease in quantity and a 47.6- percent decrease in value.  Of the top 15 parts markets, 12 countries had increases in both quantity and  value.  For the top 15 markets combined, the quantity increased 13.2 percent and the value increased 18.1 percent.  Export of chicken parts to “other countries” were off 3.4-percent in tonnage but gained 9.4 percent in dollars when January-November 2012 is compared with year earlier.
