Chicken parts exports in September this year were 303,371 metric tons valued at $370.13 million compared with a year earlier when exports were 301,924 tons valued at $353.23 million, a 0.5-percent increase in tonnage and a 4.8-percent increase in dollars.  The top two parts markets (Mexico and China) both registered increases in both quantity and value.  Ten of the top 15 parts markets had increases in both quantity and value.  Together, these top 15 markets had a 0.4 percent decrease in quantity but a 1.3 percent increase in value.  “Other countries” had a 2.4 percent increase in quantity and a 13.1 percent increase in value.

Chicken parts exports during January-September 2012 totaled 2,655,330 metric tons valued at $3,246.35 million compared with 2,418,421 tons valued at $2,733.38 million, a 9.8-percent increase in quantity and a 18.8-percent increase in value.  Mexico, the top parts market during the first three-quarters of 2012, had a 20.0-percent increase in quantity and a 42.2-percent increase in value when compared to a year earlier.  Next top market Hong Kong experienced a 39.6-percent decrease in quantity and a 41.0- percent decrease in value.  Of the top 15 parts markets, 12 countries had increases in quantity and  13 countries had increases in value.  For the top 15 markets combined, the quantity increased 15.9 percent and the value increased 22.0 percent.  “Other countries” parts exported dropped 2.2 percent in tonnage but increased 11.5 percent in dollars.
