The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY), the National Chicken Council, the North American Meat Processors Association, Auburn University, and the University of Georgia, will present a Pre-Harvest Food Safety Conference in conjunction with the 2012 International Poultry Exposition (IPE).

The conference will be held Wednesday, January 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Thursday, January 26 from 8:15 a.m.-Noon in rooms B-401 & B-402 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta. Registration for this conference will allow participation in the two half-day sessions conducted on Wednesday and Thursday of IPE week.  The $150  conference registration fee will also include admission to IPE.

Regulators and researchers will come together with experts from the poultry industry and the allied industries that serve them, to discuss that which is known and unknown concerning the control of food borne pathogens in poultry pre-harvest operations.

“This conference will provide an in-depth exploration into the poultry pre-harvest area, so attendees will find it relevant regardless of other food safety-related events they may have previously attended,” said Dr. Alling Yancy, vice President of food safety and production programs for USPOULTRY.
